~ For When I am Weak, Then I am Strong ~

This past week was especially hard for me.
 Physically, spiritually, and emotionally...
I am spent!!!

We had a very sudden and tragic death in our family.
 (my cousin, David)

I was stressed all week long waiting on my mom's test results (it's all good, praise God!!)

And I had a bout of a 24 hour
(BUT SOOO MISERABLE, THOUGHT MY EYEBALLS WOULD POP OUTTA MY HEAD) bug!!
I still have not regained all of my strength.
It's all I can do to lift Presley up in my arms.

I would say it's been one of "THOSE" weeks.
One that I am not ready to experience again any time soon. But I am praying that this week will be full of renewed strength (physically, spiritually, and emotionally.)

I need all the strength I can muster to get all of my inventory photographed, priced, and posted.

I also have many projects that I am ready to start and share with you!!!
So be sure and check back.

I will also announce the "object(s)" of my giveaway.
If you want to be entered, first, become a follower and then leave me a comment.

(I LOVE COMMENTS :))

This will automatically enter you in any and all giveaways that I will have :))

I hope you all have a wonderful week!!!
I pray that God will bless each and every one of you!!

And remember...
If you are feeling a bit (or very) weak,
lean on this scripture...
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in difficulties.
For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 9, 10.

Love to you all!!!

~ Amazing Grace ~

Romans 5:1-2  "1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand..." Galatians 5:4

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.

And Grace, my fears relieved.

How precious did that Grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares

I have already come;

'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far

and Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.

His word my hope secures.

He will my shield and portion be,

As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,

And mortal life shall cease,

I shall possess within the veil,

A life of joy and peace.

When we've been here ten thousand years

Bright shining as the sun.

We've no less days to sing God's praise

Than when we've first begun.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

~ Thank you Lord for your love, mercy, and grace in my life ~
For all that you are and all that you do and all that I am in you
I thank you and give you all the praise, glory, and honor!!
Amen...

~ Pink Saturday ~

Well poo,  I missed the party for Pink Saturday :(
I guess I will have my own pink party...
I hate being left out!!
 Oh well, life goes on....

A simple but powerful prayer.

Sweet pillow with sweet words.
All I hope to make my home to be.

This is a sign that hangs on the door to Kylee's room. Very appropriate I think.

A bonnet I made for Kylee.

The roses on the side are made with ribbon.
It was my first time trying this.
I love ribbon embroidery.

My favorite little outfits.

A very sweet bib and burp rag.
Very fitting for a little princess.

I have a thing for metal buckets. This is one I bought from Rachel Ashwell's store in Austin before she closed the location. I was pretty bummed when that day came.
I use it as a trash can in Kylee's room.

This is the print of the sheets on the bed. I would love to make her bedding out of them but I just can't bring myself to cutting them up. I will eventually...
I just have to work up to it!!

I have several pictures like this one in her room.
This one just happened to have a pink hue.

A picture of pink roses. I love them!! They are by far my favorite flower.
I hope Kylee will love them as much as I do :))

Have a wonderful Pink Saturday!!!

Party, party, party :))  I am loving these parties!!!

"Show and Tell Friday"

I hope that's ok and not too tacky...

(FRIDAY)

Three in a parties in a row!!!  Wooo hooo!!!
Today (Friday) I am participating in
Show and Tell Friday over at My Romantic Home
I couldn't decide on what to share!!!  Decisions, decisions :))  But I decided on the Easter bonnet I made for my sweet, sweet grand baby Kylee ( I get to show her off too).

I love white eyelet lace. It is so pure and innocent.

Doesn't she look adorable :))  Sooo serious though....  She is quite a thinker.

I think she is reading a book here :))  Very studious... don't you think??

Baby bubbles.... she is really good at that too.  LOVE IT!!!

I had to throw this in just to show that she has a very silly side too.  She is wearing her daddy's Army hat.  She looks so much like her daddy!!!  He is currently serving in Iraq so please pray for him (his name is Bailey) and all of our soldiers!!!  Bless their hearts!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my very first Show and Tell presentation (It will get better in time, I promise) Please come and visit anytime!!!  You will always be welcomed here :))  I am fairly new at this blog stuff and learning so much!! I hope to share all of my thoughts, well not ALL of them ;)) but  the ones I think are appropriate and interesting anyways.  I will have lots of before and after projects.  I paint furniture (and anything else that will stand still long enough), sew, reupholster, SHOP :)) and so much more.  I will be opening an Etsy shop too.  I have soooo much stuff from my shop to get rid of).  Comments make me VERY happy!!  I also feel my heart skip a beat when I see that someone else is "following" me.  Silly I know but I am being truthful.  So if you like what you've seen so far,  feel free to leave a comment and you are more than welcome to become a follower.  I promise to do my best to never lead you astray :))

I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed weekend.  We are planning on a beach run with the
Houston Land Rover Club.  Should be lots of fun!!!

Love to you all!!!

Transformation Thursday

Follow me over to The Shabby Chic Cottage for my very first Transformation Thursday where I will be sharing this hutch made of old fence re purposed wood!!! Talk about one man's trash!!! And how green can you get??? I have always loved recycling things and making them into something new!! I'm excited to see what everyone else has so I better get this going. Here we go :))
I usually spray my furniture but I figured the wood would just soak it up and it take too many coats so I rolled the paint on and it worked pretty good. It was a little gloppy in some areas but overall it did the trick.

This is what I started with. I didn't make the hutch but I do know the gentleman who did. I almost forgot to take a before picture. You can see on the side that I had already started painting it :/ So many of the projects I have done over the years don't have a before picture. I get so excited about getting started that I forget to take pictures of the before and then after it's done I'm kicking myself for not doing it. But on this one I just so happened to remember :))  Yay!!

The gentleman that made the hutch used screen in the doors.

It really looked ok but I prefer the look of chicken wire. I think it gives it more of a rustic look (plus I love chicken wire.)
And here it is.  After I painted it I couldn't even wait for the paint to dry to start distressing it.  But it was not really wet. The wood really soaks up the paint.  I love to distress furniture.  It's kinda like therapy but a whole heck of a lot cheaper :)

I don't know why I love chicken wire so much.... One time I covered a lampshade base with chicken wire and then used a white cotton hankie with lace on it to cover the top.  I loved it.... I don't know about anybody else, but I did :))

Here is the base of the hutch.  The top is removable so it is not so heavy to move around.  I just painted over the hardware that was on there too. I think if you didn't want to use the bottom for display and just use it for storage, it would look really good with some fabric behind the chicken wire.  Maybe a toile or even just plain white cotton or linen.  But I think it would be an ideal place to store and display some cream wear or even all your silver (mine is all tarnished at the moment and I think that would even look good in there!!

Here is the top of the hutch (and one of my mannequins (I love them so much :))  I didn't know at the time that I was taking these pictures that I would be posting them on a blog.  So you will have to excuse the mess in the background.  You may have noticed that I don't have a straight on shot of the hutch.  That is because I couldn't get far enough away to get it all in the shot.  This thing is huge.  It is probably a good 7ft. tall and maybe 5ft. wide.  It really is a monster!!  If it wasn't soo big I would be bringing it home with me.  I really want a potting bench / hutch for the patio and this would be perfect for that.  The wood is treated and already weathered.  I use exterior paint so that would be good.   I think it would just get better looking sitting outside.  But that is just me :)

And here it is all dressed up for the Transformation Tuesday party... You like??? I loooove it!!!
Please excuse the dolly in the picture.  I couldn't crop it out without taking off the whole bottom of the hutch.  I think having this blog and knowing that I am taking pictures to post on here will make me become more aware of everything else in the picture.

So there it is.... I hope you enjoyed it.  I will eventually open an Etsy shop and start selling some of this stuff and I am planning on taking the furniture to a consignment shop.  It just doesn't look like I am going to be able to do what I wanted to with opening the shop and having the flea market.  But I am not going to give up.  I know this is what I want to do.  I just have more pressing things going on in my life at this moment.  But one day I do plan to open my shop again and hopefully have it on a piece of land large enough to have a flea market as well.  I think that would be so much fun!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day!!!!!
