More whites from our home,
my old shop,
and some of my work.

~  Our Entry Way  ~

~ Peonies in front of my favorite white french doors ~

~  A dining chair with my favorite pillow  ~

~  An old window pane that hangs in our bedroom  ~

~  A slipcover in progress~
I can't tell you how many times I've sewn, ripped, and re-sewn
the middle part alone!!! At least 3 or 4 or 1000...
I've lost count!!
But I finally got it straight but I haven't taken pictures yet.

I'm not sure if I want to keep the ruffle...
I think I want it smaller.

Believe it or not, the white slipcovers really do hold up.
(Even with our two year old grand baby)

We have a mix of white and dark furniture.
Feminine and masculine
at the same time.

~  The curtain that hangs over the massive (frosted) window in the master bath  ~

~  As you walk in the bathroom ~

~  Love that curtain  ~
Pretty reflections of my mini chandelier
and my crystal champagne bucket
that holds the soap.
Can you tell I love white???
Just wondering ;))

~  Yep, the curtain again... ~

~ Monogrammed hand towel ~

~ My little chandelier my sweet husband hung for me ~

~  I have a thing for clocks ~
This one hangs over my closet door
(reminding me to hurry)

I know....
 this isn't white.
This is a BEFORE picture.
That rarely happens around here :))
Seriously...
I am usually to excited to paint
to remember to take a before picture!!
I will try harder now that I have a blog and will want to show
"Before and After"

"AFTER"
Sooo much softer and prettier.
I am still planning on distressing it.
Just enough to see the details in the roses and the edges...

~  The glass knobs Scotty put on the drawers and cabinet doors  ~

~  A sweet gift from my sweet husband  ~
hanging on my closet door.
It's almost old enough to be considered "vintage"
But still love to see it everyday.

~  Apothecary (Apothacary??? ) jars ~
that hold
cotton balls, swabs, and pearls.

~  Monogrammed hand towel  ~
draped over a set of lacy white towels
I received as a wedding gift.
Almost 19 years and just as beautiful
as the day I received them.
Soo pretty...

~   My old shop  ~

 French Doors
 Old Window Panes
 Painted Shutters
Perfect even if you just hang it on a wall
or prop them up in a corner.

~  I miss this place  ~
It smelled Heavenly.

~  Chandeliers, Vanities, Lamps, Mirrors  ~
These are the things I will have in my online shop.

~ Ornate mirrors, chandeliers, vintage hats  ~
Glass cloches, vintage crystal, etc...

~ Fun items as well ~

~  The dark and the white again with a touch of cobalt blue  ~
Very Ralph Lauren

~  Lots and lots of white wicker and flowers  ~

~  Another pretty monogrammed hand towel  ~
(not my picture and don't remember where I found it.)

~  A picture of roses out of Rachel Ashwell's book  ~

~  My work  ~
This is a settee I reupholstered
for a local boutique owner.
If I had my choice I would have painted the frame white
 with a light distressing.

~  She was very happy with the results  ~

She didn't want the deep tufting...
but I think it looks pretty good :))

Even the piping turned out pretty good...

~  The back  ~

I'm still learning....
But come back and see what else I'm up to :))
I paint, I sew, I reupholster and
I am planning to put together tutorials on
how to do all this fun stuff!!!
If I can do it, YOU can do it :))
(If you want to)

Now, since I didn't do a post for Father's Day
I am doing a little one now...
It is still in keeping with the "White Wednesday" theme
(Sort of )
But definitely honoring my sweet husband Scotty.
These are just a few of his babies :))
Did I mention he is a Land Rover NUT  Enthusiast???
(Notice the WHITE Range Rover)

Here we are (with a different White Range Rover)
We are camping and off roading with the
Houston Land Rover Club.
They caught us eating breakfast...
and at the time I had braces!!!
And overalls under the sweatshirt.
Very bulky looking :))
Not the best picture we've ever taken LOL!!!

And here he is (in a WHITE t-shirt)
sitting in the very first Land Rover he ever brought home.
That is a story in itself :))
It was in an Exxon commercial!!

Happy Father's Day Honey!!!
I love you!!
(I'm not really late posting this,
I'm just really early for next year ;))

Love to you all!!!

Oh your slipcover and upholstery jobs are fantastic! I'm just learning and completed a settee slip that was fun to make. Just finishing my first wing chair! It's not as hard as it seems. As for your ruffle...love the small ruffle on the ottoman. Have you thought of a larger ruffle on the sofa instead of smaller? Why didn't I follow my instinct 20 years ago and go WHITE? Like the old Victoria Magazine I loved. Oh..I'm your 30th follower :)

My Show n Tell is 'showing off the flowers...". Do come by if you have time today, I'd love to have you visit with me.

Hello Michella,

Thank you for the very kind and thoughtful words you leftfor me. I am very flattered and love that you like my blog so much. It is still evolving and I hope you stick around as a regular to see where it goes next. My biggest push lately has been to try and get more and more participation from craftswomen like yourself, who love creating things with their hands and using tools. It is a real pleasure to have you join all of us at Tools Are For Women Too. Perhaps the next time you break out your hammer and nails you will consider writing about it as a guest contributor on my humble site. I am sure my readers would love to hear from you.
